Responsibilities
- Performs
a variety of moderately complex accounting procedures relating to credit
union accounts and clearing activities.
- Process
and balance all general ledger entries and retrieve items posted to
member’s accounts.
- Verification
of term deposits, RRSPs, RRIFs, TFSAs, and Broker accounts, including new,
renewed, and maturing accounts.
- Complete
and process all forms of payments and transfers through all channels.
- Prepare,
process, and balance all incoming and outgoing clearings, electronically
or manually.
- Answers
queries from members concerning status of pending transactions. Contacts
members to advise of overdrawn accounts, or to make arrangements for
correction of reason for return. Answer queries from staff, investigate
and report resolution back to staff member.
- Perform
a variety of administrative functions including daily downloading,
printing, storing, and distributing reports related to e-Central and the
Banking System.
- Processing,
balancing and verification of Investment Broker accounts and term
deposits.
- All
other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Minimum
education is a secondary school graduation diploma or equivalent, plus a
minimum of one (1) year of related work experience.
- Subject
to extended hours as per Article 5:01 (b) of the Collective Agreement.
Knowledge, Skills & Capabilities
- Able
to be flexible, organize and plan work in order to deal with deadlines and
peak periods.
- Creative
problem-solving skills.
- Excellent
member service skills, effectively ascertain needs of member.
- Intermediate
knowledge on all Credit Union products and services.
- Excellent
communication skills, verbally & written.
- Intermediate
knowledge of accounting processes and office administration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel.
