About the Opportunity
Finning Canada, the world’s largest Caterpillar dealer, is seeking a Health & Safety Training Specialist to support branch operations by designing, delivering, and maintaining high-quality safety training programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring employees work safely, comply with regulatory requirements, and uphold Finning’s strong safety culture.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering branch-specific health and safety training, including hazard awareness, regulatory compliance, and operational safety programs.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deliver health and safety training programs for branch employees

Provide instruction on hazard identification, risk assessment, and safe work procedures

Support compliance with provincial and federal OHS regulations

Conduct safety orientations for new hires and contractors

Maintain training records and certification tracking

Evaluate training effectiveness and update content as required

Partner with management, supervisors, and HSE teams to address site-specific safety needs

Support incident investigations with training-related analysis

Promote a proactive safety culture across all operations
Qualifications
-
Experience in occupational health and safety, training, or industrial operations

Knowledge of Canadian OHS legislation and safety management systems

Strong presentation, facilitation, and instructional design skills

Ability to develop training materials and deliver classroom and field-based instruction

Excellent communication and organizational skills
-
Willingness to travel between branches as required
Preferred Experience
-
CRSP, CHSC, NCSO, or equivalent safety certification
-
Experience in heavy equipment, mining, construction, or industrial environments

Familiarity with hazard assessments, lockout/tagout, confined space, and working at heights
-
Adult education or training certification
