About the Opportunity

A leading industrial operation in Malartic is seeking a motivated Industrial Electrical Apprentice to join its maintenance and projects team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a large-scale industrial environment while working alongside certified journeyperson electricians on modern equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Team Leader, the Industrial Electrical Apprentice will:

  • Install, connect, and test industrial electrical equipment according to drawings and specifications

  • Assist with wiring of motors, control panels, MCCs, transformers, lighting, and instrumentation

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical plans

  • Perform cable pulling, conduit installation, terminations, and grounding

  • Support preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems

  • Participate in equipment commissioning and shutdown/start-up activities

  • Follow all safety procedures including lockout/tagout, confined space, and working at heights

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in safe working condition

  • Communicate progress and issues to the Team Leader


Qualifications

  • Registered or enrolled Industrial Electrician Apprentice (provincial trade program)

  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical theory and components

  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings

  • Strong safety awareness and willingness to work in a mining/industrial environment

  • Physically capable of working in demanding conditions (heights, confined spaces, variable weather)

  • Available to work a 4/3 rotational schedule in Malartic


Assets

  • Previous experience in mining, heavy industry, or manufacturing

  • Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, and Motor Control Centers (MCCs)

  • Valid safety certifications (WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout)
