Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Seasonal Tax Preparer / Accounting and Tax Returns Preparer to support our team during the busy tax season. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing personal and business tax returns, assisting with indirect taxes, and providing general accounting and administrative support. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of Canadian tax regulations who enjoys working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file personal (T1) and business (T2) income tax returns

  • Prepare GST/HST and applicable provincial tax returns

  • Review financial documents for accuracy and completeness

  • Conduct basic research on income tax matters and compliance issues

  • Perform general bookkeeping tasks, including data entry and reconciliation

  • Assist with clerical and administrative duties such as document filing, scanning, and client communication

  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all privacy and data protection requirements

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in tax preparation or accounting (seasonal experience an asset)

  • Knowledge of Canadian income tax, GST/HST, and provincial tax regulations

  • Proficiency with accounting and tax preparation software

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good organizational and time-management skills

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines during peak tax season

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
