The opportunity
Drafting, elaborating, and evaluating conceptual alternatives for major elements of airport infrastructure including airfield, passenger terminal, landside access, cargo, and support areas.
Establishing designs and layouts for passenger terminals and airport facilities including conceptual plans, passenger flows, operational analysis, and high-level phasing.
Conducting spreadsheet analyses, using custom in-house or commercial software, to develop facility requirements, analyse connection flows and walking distances, and option analysis for individual airport components or systems of components.
Communicating and working with staff at all levels participating in project work.
Working with Arup’s Global Aviation Planning group and local Transportation Planning group to augment and refine custom in-house analytical tools, and/or develop new tools and methodologies.
CAD and graphic support for a variety of airport planning project types, including ground transport, passenger terminal and airside.

Is this role right for you?
Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree or equivalent experience and professional license are further assets in Transport Planning, Architecture, or related field.
3+ years’ progressively responsible experience in aviation planning, transport planning, or related field, reflecting a professional awareness of today’s aviation industry, as well as the planning, design, construction, financing, operation, and regulation of airports.
Knowledge of and experience delivering planning work to meet international policies, regulations, and airport planning standards (ICAO / IATA, FAA, other country-specific).
Some level of Project Management experience, including establishment of project scopes and budgets, managing tasks and workflows, working with clients.
Intermediate CAD / BIM platforms capabilities, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation or Revit.
Build graphics and presentation software packages, such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint.
Analyse data using analytical and database tools such as MS Excel, Access.
A commitment to technical accuracy and quality work.
Good interpersonal skills crucial for team-based working, often in distributed offices.
Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment.
Must be highly motivated, proactive, and willing to take on new challenges.
