About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team and take ownership of the design, scalability, security, and reliability of our cloud and infrastructure platforms.

In this senior, hands-on leadership role, you will define DevOps best practices, influence architectural decisions, and mentor engineers while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Security teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution and enjoys building systems that scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, implementation, and evolution of DevOps and cloud infrastructure

• Design and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure production environments

• Lead CI/CD strategy, tooling, and automation across engineering teams

• Drive infrastructure-as-code standards and cloud best practices

• Partner with application engineering teams to improve deployment reliability and performance

• Establish monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response best practices

• Champion security, compliance, and reliability throughout the software lifecycle

• Mentor and provide technical leadership to DevOps and platform engineers

• Evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies where appropriate

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering

• Deep expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)

• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, etc.)

• Extensive experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines

• Strong background with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.)

• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Go, or similar)

• Proven ability to lead architectural decisions in complex environments

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in regulated or security-sensitive environments

• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices

• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud architectures

• Background in high-availability, distributed systems

• Prior experience in a principal, staff, or lead engineering role
