Accounts Payable/General Accounting Administrator

The role:

Full cycle AP management including matching, coding, and accurate costing of invoices.
Manage a 3-way match in ERP system (Sage X3), ensure invoices are posted to appropriate expense accounts, conduct weekly cheque and wire/EFT runs to process payments, respond to vendor inquiries regarding the status of their invoices.
Run Aging Reports; provide status updates and book bank transactions in Sage X3.
Generate and manage all vendor credit applications.
Reconcile corporate credit cards statements.
Daily cash reporting, bank reconciliations, and fund transfers for all accounts.
Manage and journal pre-paid expenses.
Manage and journal fixed assets registers and monthly depreciation.
Monthly FX revaluations.
Monthly accruals for R&M, shop supplies, and consulting fees.
Identify and report on key financial and operational performance indicators monthly.
Support the Finance Director with closing the month end.
Work with the Finance Director to develop and maintain accounting procedures related to AP general accounting functions; provide support on year-end financial audit and any other review or audit, such as HST, etc.
Maintain a timely and tidy filing system of AP backups.
Ad hoc projects and duties as directed by the Finance Director.
Provide regular payroll administrative backup to cover vacations and other absences.

You offer:

Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of combined AP and AR experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Familiarity with trade spend management and aging reports.
Strong understanding of business processes, experienced ERP system user (Sage X3 experience is an asset).
Exceptional time management and organizational skills, self-starter with a high level of initiative.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, professional phone manners.
