As a Supervisor, Airport Bussing, you will:
Responsible for the support and supervision of a team of Bus Drivers and Lead Hands performing all bussing related tasks on the Airfield and Groundside at Toronto Pearson
Providing leadership and guidance to the team including coaching, team building and conflict resolution when required
Implementing best practices in collaboration with the team and management
Supporting and assisting the leadership of the Manager, Bussing Operations and the Manager Operations, Airside Ground Operations
Ensuring appropriate action is taken to deliver on the day of requests made by the Manager Operations, Airside Ground Operations
Providing input and recommendations to the Manager, Bussing Operations regarding operational plans, procedures, processes and policies including the identification of shortfalls/deficiencies
Assisting in the creation of performance measurements and collecting information pertaining to performance measurement
Providing input to the Manager, Operations regarding day of priorities and action plans to deal with planned and demand maintenance, identifying shortfalls that may impact the daily plan in an expedient manner
Responsible for implementing the work plan through the issuance and follow up of work orders and the completion of the Daily Schedule Control
Ensuring work load is properly balanced and distributed accordingly to team
Ensuring work is completed to a satisfactory level and in priority sequence
Sourcing and procuring supplies and materials
Ensuring that all staff are working in a safe manner, including performing safety audits to ensure a safe working environment for all employees as well as delivery of monthly safety talks to all staff
Ensuring all employees are properly trained for all expected tasks as well as regulatory requirements including policy and procedure training and practical training
Documenting and verifying all procedural training, identifying shortfalls where applicable for inclusion in the annual training plan
Ensuring that all bus and GSE inspections are performed as required, ensuring action is taken on any items that require additional attention and ensuring that outstanding issues are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner
Providing input to management regarding staff performance including exemplary performance, shortfalls/deficiencies, disciplinary and attendance issues
Providing input on performance appraisals for new staff and any other circumstances where appraisals may be required
Ensuring proper time and attendance records are kept up to date, verified, and recommended for approval using the computerized timekeeping system
Ensuring staff are in compliance with the provisions of the collective agreement
Ensuring the highest level of customer service is provided to the travelling public using the bussing services
Ensuring GTAA IMS practices are understood and implemented as required
Any other duties as required including support of irregular operations
This unionized position is classified at the Band 7 level, with an hourly wage range of $44.63, based on a 40 hour work week. As part of the recruitment process, you will be required to complete a test.

This is the role for you, if you have:
Must possess a high school diploma
Minimum five (5) years’ experience working in an airport environment
Minimum one (1) year of experience supervising employees or being in a team leadership role
Must possess a DA/AVOP permit (or obtain within 30 days)
Must possess a valid provincial CZ Driver’s license or greater
Obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position

Extensive knowledge of bussing operations and contingencies
Knowledge of airline operations
Ability to review radar and other weather forecast reports to provide recommendations to management on staffing requirements and action plans for given weather conditions
Ability to effectively plan the work of others
Knowledge of the collective agreement with the ability to interpret it
Ability to interpret and apply plans, policies and procedures
Ability to reconcile monthly expenditures and provide appropriate financial coding for expenditures
Strong ability to interact with peers, managers, inter-departmentally, and with the public and our stakeholders
Ability to work closely with others and foster a positive team environment
Ability to provide and accept constructive criticism
Ability to adapt to changing conditions and show a mature approach
