Responsibilities:
Responsible for the positioning of the hotel and business development.
Implement and supervise the execution of sales and annual budget.
Develop rates, group sales deployment strategies through review of competitive data and demand analysis.
Reviews the STR report, TravelClick, competitive shopping reports and uses other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel’s market position.
Collect market and competitive intelligence to assess and implement strategy and long-term goals and strategic vision.
Work with the Director of Revenue Management to develop and support strategies for the hotel, specifically the achievement of targeted room revenues and optimal sales mix.
Oversee day-to-day duties of prospecting accounts, account development, site inspections and proper account management practices by the Sales Team
Implements the brand’s service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process and focuses on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of the hotel’s’ sales objectives.
Actively participate in other Sales/Catering duties after contracting; such as setting up group master accounts, group rates and local negotiated rates in PMS system, assisting with reservations, some detailing of groups, group resumes/ BEOs and client billing.
Direct and manage all sales training, yearly sales targets, sales quotas, the incentive plan and all other corporate and hotel learning required to maintain the most effective sales professionals in the market.
Develop and manage the Annual Sales plan, Rooms budget and departmental operation budget.
Representing and promoting the brand locally and internationally in various trade shows & business events.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of three years hotel sales management experience required
Bachelor’s Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree preferred
Excellent understanding of all market segments including Leisure, Business, Transient, Group and OTA’s
Excellent communications skills- interpersonal, written and public/media relations
Computer literacy (Opera, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Ability to travel within and outside of Canada
Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 environment, including weekends, evenings and holidays
Legally entitled to work in Canada
