Duties
The Supply Chain Manager oversees a team and drives strategic planning, supply & demand planning, procurement, inventory management, logistics, and supplier relationship management.

Lead and develop supply chain efforts and strategies to align with company objectives (exceed customer service targets, reduce complexity, and enable profitable business growth).
Maintain and foster a collaborative and results-oriented work environment with a culture of continuous improvement.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast demand and plan for current and future supply chain needs.
Analyze supply chain processes to identify opportunities, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
Implement and improve an effective plan and process to source, evaluate, and select suppliers of raw materials (based on cost, quality, and reliability).
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers for raw material purchases (PET, HIPS, PP, RPET, Biomaterials, etc.)
Manage supplier performance and resolve supply issues as they arise.
Manage inventory levels to balance customer demand and ensure cost-effective inventory holdings.
Conduct regular inventory audits, implement control systems, analyze turnover rates, carrying costs, and reorder points to optimize inventory levels.
Oversee regional warehousing network and monitor the performance of third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and shipping carriers.
Manage cost and performance metrics of transportation routes and distribution networks.
Using historical data and analytics, forecast demand for products and services.
Implement and support quality control processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work closely with and evaluate supplier performance to improve lead times, product quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Monitor and analyze supply chain costs, including transportation, warehousing, and procurement costs to identify cost-saving opportunities and cost drivers for continuous improvement.
Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate them, including external factors such as market conditions, geopolitical issues, and natural disasters.
Use analytics to assess the environmental impact of the supply chain and identify opportunities for sustainability improvements, such as reducing carbon emissions and minimizing waste.
Implement real-time tracking and monitoring solutions to gain greater visibility into the movement of goods and inventory levels, allowing for quicker response to disruptions and ensuring optimal inventory levels.
Assess emerging supply chain technologies and their potential for improving supply chain operations.
Other related duties as assigned.
What we’re looking for
A Great Attitude!
Relevant post-secondary education (e.g. Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement or related field).
Procurement experience in plastics (PET, HIPS, PP, RPET, Biomaterials, etc.).
3 to 5 or more years experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Strong team leadership and collaboration.
Solid knowledge of supply chain principles, practices, and technologies.
Procurement experience with raw material, bulk buying.
Proven experience in Strategic and Capacity planning.
Highly organized and detail oriented.
Proactive, results-oriented with strong follow through skills.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
Computer proficiency: knowledge of MS Office, ERP, etc.
Position requires occasional work off hours (evenings, occasional weekends as needed eg. Inventory counts etc.).
Weekly travel to Amhil’s Brantford location.
Also nice to have
Familiar with Amhil products and plastic food packaging experience.
